The Royal Watercolour Society is based at Bankside Gallery, located on the south bank of the River Thames next to Tate Modern. During exhibitions the Gallery is open daily between 11am and 6pm. Admission to our exhibitions is free.

Buying Art

If you are interested in work by one of our Members, or have seen a painting that you like on this website that you wish to purchase, please telephone the Gallery on the number above.

Bookshop

The Gallery shop stocks a range of cards and art books, including a specialist section of technical guides to watercolour painting. You can also find RWS greetings cards, DVDs and sketchbooks.

How to find us

The Gallery is on the South Bank of the Thames near Tate Modern. If you are approaching from the River Walkway look out for the Founders Arms Pub, the entrance to the Gallery is down the steps just opposite the pub. There is also a ramp for wheelchair access. Blackfriars, Southwark, St Paul’s, Mansion House and London Bridge stations are all within walking distance and several buses stop on nearby Southwark Street and Blackfriars Bridge Road.
